This meeting is part of Pôle EAU and France Water Team network partners’s international activities for the development of French-American bilateral cooperation to create new market opportunities and encourage SMEs in the water and environment sector to improve their international market position.

Indeed, Pôle EAU has signed in 2014 a partnership agreement with the American cluster The Water Council based in Milwaukee. This technical and commercial cooperation enables the respective member companies to ensure and strengthen their momentum in the US and internationally by facilitating the development of business partnerships and innovation projects.

Their visit to the tradefairtrade fair and the meetings with exhibiting companies have allowed to appreciate the expertise of French water sector players and assess the challenges for sustainable water resource management in a context of global changes.

The next step was Pôle EAU’s participation to the "Water Summit" in Milwaukee, organized by The Water Council cluster on 14-15 June 2016 and the "SelectUSA Investment Summit", held in Washington D-C by SelectUSA, the federal agency promoting foreign investment in the United States, on 20-21 June.

These two American fairs were a opportunities for Pôle EAU and its partners to represent companies wishing to develop their activities in the US, and propose in return to host American companies and laboratories in Montpellier.
