Development of French-Korean cooperation: Pôle EAU receives a delegation of Daegu Metropolis on Hydrogaïa exhibition

 

Pôle EAU was honoured to welcome a delegation of Deagu Metropolis, South Korea, representing the Water Industry Division and Investment Promotion Division, during the international exhibition HydroGgaïa, held in Montpellier 25 and 26 May 2016. This action meant to strenghtenstrengthen the international visibility of Montpellier in the water sector.

Pôle EAU was first invited by Daegu Metropolis authorities in October 2015 to intervene during the "World Water Cities Alliance Conference", an international conference on technology parks and clusters in the water sector. Those meetings therefore are to promote the development of cooperations between Pôle EAU and its France Water Team network partners with the third largest city in South Korea, which also hosted the World Water Forum in April 2015.

During Hydrogaïa exhibition, the Korean delegation had the opportunity to meet 8 exhibiting companies and assess the expertise of French industry players. Then, the delegation was received at Metropole of Montpellier Métropole de Montpellier welcomed by the Vice President Chantal MARION, director of water, Florence FUCHS, and the General Manager of Pôle EAU, Jean-Loïc CARRÉ.

The delegation now officially invited the Metropole of Montpellier and Pôle EAU to participate at the Korea Water Expo in October 2016, and also proposed a town twinning between the two cities, as part of a major national project for a creation of a water technology park in Daegu.

Besides, let’s remember this years France-Korea are celebrating the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
